Wakeboard Girl Pin-up Speed Painting (week 10) by DrakePin-up
This weeks theme was directly connected to a personal event that happened this weekend. I have sold the Wakeboard boat that I have been severely neglecting the last couple of years as my family has been growing and my professional commitments and responsibilities have been drowning my "leisure time" (pun intended). It was a 2005 Malibu Wakesetter VLX and I custom ordered every detail of her. I even went to the factory to witness the assembly. It was a beautiful boat and only appropriate to memorialize it with a pin-up. There was not much time left in the weekend after the transaction took place, but I started roughing this one in and thought I would place in the boat and the subject in a tropical oasis full of lush waterfalls and rock formations. I was really treating it like I would a piece of concept art that I would create a work. I realized that the simplicity of the girl and the boat as a stylized drawing would fit the theme a little better. You can see that shift at the 1:00 mark. I personally like the black and white 2:11 the best, I just couldn't get that same vibe with a full color version, but it is blue and moody to fit how I felt as it drove out of our life. She does feel a little sad now that I look at it. Hope you enjoy Check back every Monday for a new Pin-up from DrakePin-up.com or you can become a fan on Facebook at " a pin-up a week by DrakePin-up.com " or follow me on twitter at drakepinup.
