This is the story of a tiny boy called Elviz. He is only a year and a half but a third of his small life was a struggle with a horrible diagnosis — neuroblastoma in the 4th stadium with metastases in the bone marrow. Following the request of the volunteers, Kseniya Simonova and her Creative Group created a sand film about Elviz, hoping that with help of this artwork more and more people will know about a tragedy of a young family. I received a letter from Lina Morozova, the volunteer of Elviz, — Kseniya says, — At that time he was receiving treatment in the oncology-hematological department of the children's hospital of Titov in Simferopol which I know very well. Having received the photos of a boy, I couldn't stop my tears — he was so tiny, and reminded me of my own son at this age. This is a time for playing in the sandbox, riding the toy cars, walking in park. Instead of this, he is spending all his time in the hospital, with painful injections, punctions and pain, pain, pain… His parents are a very young couple, and I can imagine how they feel now — Elviz is their first and only child. But cancer doesn't care about the age. How horrible it is! When I started creating a sand story, I felt that it is being creating separately from me, as if another Hand did that instead of mine. I just had to follow the images which were rapidly born on the glass surface. Allegories. Reality. I don't know. I just desperately want him to recover, to be healthy again. I wish the family could find money for an expensive treatment, because despite of his tiny age, Elviz is a real fighter. And I do believe he will recover, he just needs help. У Эльвиза нейробластома 4 стадии с метастазами в костный мозг. По просьбе волонтёров Ксения Симонова и её Творческая группа создали песочный фильм об Эльвизе, надеясь, что с помощью этой работы больше людей узнает о трагедии молодой семьи. — Мне написала Лина Морозова, волонтёр Эльвиза, который проходил лечение в хорошо известном мне отделении онкогематологии детской больницы им.Титова в Симферополе, — говорит Ксения, — Получив фотографии мальчика, я едва сдержала слёзы: такой маленький… Вспомнила своего сыночка в этом возрасте. Вместо прогулок на свежем воздухе, вместо веселой возни в песочнице и катания на каруселях, этот малыш неделями лежит в стерильном блоке, и вся его жизнь — это боль… У Эльвиза совсем юные мама с папой, и я представляю, какой это удар: ведь Эльвиз — первый и единственный ребёнок. Рак не спрашивает возраст и не щадит младенцев. Как страшно. История создалась, как всегда, «сама», без планирования и раздумий. Песок сам ложился на поверхность, моим рукам нужно было только успевать следовать за молниеносно рождающимися образами. Аллегории. Реальность. Не знаю. Я просто очень хочу, чтобы он поправился, чтобы нашлась возможность лечиться, ведь несмотря на свои полтора годика, Эльвиз — настоящий мужчина, борец. Я верю, что он поправится, ему просто нужна помощь.
