Digital painting tutorial Red street speedpainting. This tutorial shows you how to paint a scene, set up composition and learn to use lighting and shadow in concept art creation process. This scene is a scene from Romance of the Three Kingdoms when general Zhao Yun passing through hundreds of soldiers to save the baby prince. Things to focus on 1) Shapes and compositions. 2) Range of value. Remember what is in the light and what is in the shadow. Do not mix them up. You should have a clear line between the two and your image will stand out. 3) Using brush strokes and edges to refine your images.
