Being unmotivated and uninspired is an awful thing for any artist. This week I travelled to New York on a business trip. I was a very inspiring trip, even if it doesnt reflect in this piece. The first night I was having a drink at a bar and looked up at some of the images on the walls and there were all these models putting on make-up. It was head shots, but I could see the pin-up potential. The next night I went to see the Adams Family on Broadway, which was not that great, but I thought I should do a goth pin-up...  It is the most magical moments to enjoy a beautiful view of a city on water edge at night time. All of the brilliant night lights, its reflection in the water compliment this beautiful composition.In this art video demonstration I will create a magical cityscape painting using only pallet knife, 16x20 inch black canvas paper, and acrylic paint by "Basics" Liquitex. There is not a lot of "there" there in the concept, but it was a nice exercise. I have been trying to find a good balance of natural world and sci-fi. I enjoy seeing visions of the future that are optimistic, but they seem to miss the drama that a dogfight between concept spaceships ripping through the middle of the piece, an invasion of a robot army or an alien...  This was my final project from "experimental animation" class at aau, my first semester(2007), still have not learned how to draw yet. So don't laugh.
