Now perspective is one of those subjects that's been confusing artists for a long time. And there's not really a whole lot of good instructs on this topic out there. So in this free lesson series, I really want to show you the fundamental of perspective… what it is… how it works… and how you can apply it to your drawings or paintings. So first of all — just to make sure that we are all on the same page — let's address the question… What Is Perspective Drawing? Well, perspective is simply the art of making 2D drawings look 3D. Perspective is a set of rules and techniques that will help you create an illusion of depth in your drawings. And once you master these rules, you can use them to draw all sort three dimensional objects from simple houses to complex cityscapes and landscapes. And perspective really is one of the most important skill an artist can learn. It doesn't matter if you are into oil painting, watercolor painting, portrait drawing, or figure drawing… you need to know perspective. So in the upcoming lessons in this series you are going to learn the fundamental of how to draw perspective, we'll go over various drawing exercises, and by the end of it all, you will have drawn your very own perspective illustration. Ok, so in tomorrow's lesson, we are going to cover the fundamental elements of perspective. You're going to learn about things like vanishing points, horizon line, eye level, picture planes, cone of vision, and a whole lot more. And also how they works.
