light and shadow episode 2 half and cast shadows in painting and drawing. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create half and cast shadows. It is the first of more mini tutorials to come. Half shadow is a partial shadow, as in an eclipse, between regions of complete shadow and complete illumination. A cast shadow is a type of shadow that is created on a form next to a surface that is turned away from the source of light. When a form blocks the light, it causes a cast shadow to be formed. Every object that blocks light has a cast shadow associated with it.
