Scot Drake Demo — Rock Colony
This was a fun little "de-stress" painting that I created last night. There is not a lot of "there" there in the concept, but it was a nice exercise. I have been trying to find a good balance of natural world and sci-fi. I enjoy seeing visions of the future that are optimistic, but they seem to miss the drama that a dogfight between concept spaceships ripping through the middle of the piece, an invasion of a robot army or an alien attack would bring. I will find the hook and the stories that I want to tell one of these days, but for now, it is nice mind numbing way to end the day. Hope you enjoy, Scot

I was a very inspiring trip, even if it doesnt reflect in this piece. I was put to the test this weekend. I had a bachelor party to go to this weekend in Las Vegas and zero time during the week to create a pinup. I decided to try to work on it at the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel where we had a cabana for the day. This was a crazy goal.
